About TreeAid
Treeaid is a charity whom work in remote parts of Africa to help provide a reliable and continuous food source, help local people to earn a living and help the environment all by using one simple yet powerful resource: trees. They work with the local people planting trees that can provide food all year round, which in turn helps provide better soil for harvests and increasing biodiversity in that environment. They have a strong belief that helping impoverished countries to sustain themselves with food and income is intertwined with helping the environment, and providing a lasting, sustainable life for generations to come. They also ensure remain the property of those who need it the most by defending their rights to land and trees as helping them to earn an income through the products that trees produce.
Since their beginnings in 1987, they have helped over 500,000 people and planted and helped others plant over 10,000,000 trees! They work some of the most impoverished places including isolated areas of Ethiopia, Ghana, Niger and many more, where there is very little money, food and opportunities for the people within those communities. With the help of their supporters, and the donations they receive, they hope to ensure that across the drylands of Africa the people living there can thrive in sustainable environments, as well as help the environment and providing a stable means of income for years to come, through the amazing value of trees.
Support them and help them continue their incredible work. For further information about what they do and other ways you can help, go to the TreeAid Website.
