Help Young People Thrive by Voting for Bright Futures
This March, we have the amazing charity Bright Futures taking part in the My Favourite Voucher Codes charity poll! If they receive the most votes, they’ll get a donation of 20% of My Favourite Voucher Codes’ monthly profits. That’s funding that would go straight back into their work with girls and young women in South Tyneside.
Voting is free. It takes about a minute. You don’t have to sign up for anything complicated or commit to anything long term. It’s just a simple way to back something that’s already making a difference.
And Bright Futures really is making a difference.

So… who are Bright Futures?
Bright Futures is a charity based in South Tyneside that supports girls and young women aged four and upwards. It started back in 2012, not as some huge organisation, but as a small, community-driven idea. A response to a gap people could see - young women who needed more support than they were getting. They soon became a leader in promoting young women’s mental health, safety, education, and empowerment.
Now, it’s recognised across the region for its work around mental health, confidence, safety, and education. But at its core, it’s still about people. Real conversations. Real support.
The team includes youth workers, volunteers and peer mentors. Some of them have faced similar challenges when they were younger, and their blend of professional and personal experience ensures that Bright Futures’ services are practical, empathetic, and tailored to the needs of everyone.
Since it began, Bright Futures has supported over 55,000 girls and young women across Tyne and Wear through school-based programmes, one-to-one support, and community campaigns. That number is impressive, yes - but it’s also 55,000 individual stories.
What kind of support do Bright Futures offer?
It’s not one single programme. It’s more like layers of support that help young people in key areas that are needed.
Workshops: There are workshops and youth sessions focused on building confidence and resilience. Some are about leadership skills. Some are about everyday life skills. Sometimes it’s as simple as helping someone feel comfortable speaking in a group.
Mental Health: Mental health support is a big part of their work too. Anxiety, low self-esteem, feeling isolated - these aren’t rare experiences. Bright Futures offers safe spaces where young women can talk openly without feeling judged or dismissed.
Safety: They also run programmes around safety and exploitation awareness. Online safety, the promotion of healthy relationships and understanding boundaries. These aren’t always easy topics, but they’re important ones.
Community: And then there’s community engagement - encouraging young women to step into their communities, take part, volunteer, connect. To feel like they belong somewhere.
A lot of the young people who come to Bright Futures are juggling more than one challenge at once. School difficulties. Social isolation. Tough situations at home. When everything feels unstable, having one safe, consistent space can mean more than people realise. Bright Futures helps participants gain the confidence and skills to thrive in life.
Who does Bright Futures help?
Primarily girls and young women across the North East, starting from age four.
Some need structured support. Some just need someone to listen. Some are at risk of exclusion from school, social isolation or struggling with their mental health. Others might simply need a confidence boost at the right time.
There isn’t one “type” of young person they work with. And that’s kind of the point.
Over the last decade, thousands have gone on to feel more confident, more secure, and more hopeful about their future. Not because everything suddenly became easy - but because they had the right support behind them.
How would winning the poll help Bright Futures?
If Bright Futures wins our charity poll this month, the funding would help them keep programmes running and, ideally, expand them.
It could mean more one-to-one sessions. More school partnerships. More workshops. Maybe reaching young women who haven’t yet found their way through the door.
Charities like Bright Futures rely on opportunities like this. Demand for support keeps growing, especially around mental health, and funding isn’t always guaranteed.
This wouldn’t be abstract funding. It would directly impact girls and young women in the North East. Every pound from the donation would directly benefit young women in the Northeast, helping them grow, learn, and thrive.
How can you help?
Honestly, the easiest way is to vote in our charity poll! It’s quick. It’s free. It genuinely helps.
If you’re able to, you can also donate directly through the Bright Futures website. You can also help by participating in events, challenges, or community initiatives to raise awareness and support for Bright Futures.
Or just share the poll link. Send it to friends. Post it on social media. Mention it in passing. Those small ripples matter more than we think.
Final thoughts
It’s easy to scroll past things like this. We all do it.
But behind this poll is a charity that’s spent over a decade showing up for young women who need support, encouragement, and sometimes just someone steady in their corner.
Voting costs nothing. It takes a minute. And it could help Bright Futures continue - and grow - the work they’re already doing.
Sometimes creating change feels overwhelming. This is one of those rare moments where it’s actually simple.
