Meet Our Three Charities for Our February 2020 Poll!
It’s no secret that here at My Favourite Voucher Codes, we like to raise money for good causes with our charity poll. Since 2012, we’ve donated over £57,000 to hundreds of different charities. We don’t intend to stop there! In January, we announced the donation amount to our September poll winner, the wonderful Devon Air Ambulance. Thanks to our lovely users, we raised £149.34 for this amazing cause!
Let’s also say a huge congratulations to the winners of our January poll: Horseworld! We’ll be announcing in May how much we’ve raised for them, so stay tuned!
Our poll features three more amazing charities each month, and as a new feature for 2020, we’ve decided to introduce you to them properly. Let's meet them!
Bath Mind
Local charity Bath Mind is dedicated to providing mental health support and information across Bath and North East Somerset. The charity works within the local community to empower people living with mental health conditions in a number of ways. This includes the running of wellbeing groups and sports classes, providing advice on benefits and housing, and one to one community support. Bath Mind also work to raise awareness and tackle the stigma surrounding mental health. This is done not only through workplace training, but also working closely with local colleges, schools and universities. Their ultimate goal is a society that promotes good mental health for all, and for those with mental health conditions to be treated fairly and with respect. As the 6th February is Time to Talk Day, we can’t think of a better reason than having Bath Mind featuring in this month’s poll. Plus, as fellow Bath residents, we’re delighted to be supporting a local charity too!
British Liver Trust
As the UK’s leading charity for liver health, we’re thrilled to have the British Liver Trust on board this month. The charity not only provides support to those affected by all forms of liver disease, they also campaign for early detection and better treatments, as well as raising awareness of the conditions. Their information helpline is staffed by fully qualified nurses and is there to provide vital support to patients and their families, while their online community allows anyone affected by liver disease to have access to 24 hour support. With 90% of liver disease being preventable, the British Liver Trust are also passionate about raising awareness, which is done largely through their Love Your Liver Campaign. In addition, the campaign also encourages those at risk of liver disease to get tested so that early interventions can be made.
Youth Action Wiltshire
Last but most definitely not least, is Youth Action Wiltshire. As the youth-work arm of Wiltshire based charity, Community First, they work to inspire, guide and support young people, encouraging healthy wellbeing and positive futures. Youth Action Wiltshire have a number of different projects designed for this, including youth clubs, activity programmes, and support for young carers. The charity’s activity programmes are designed for young people who face challenges in their lives, including vulnerable children and those from families facing issues such as bereavement, financial hardship or substance abuse. Youth Action Wiltshire is there to provide young people with the chance to meet others faced with similar challenges, allowing them to feel less alone. In turn, this allows them to develop their confidence, social skills and wellbeing, steering them towards a bright future.
How Can I Support My Chosen Charity?
If you can’t decide on which charity to vote for just yet, just click on their names to be taken to their bio pages. Here, you’ll find out more about the work that each charity does, along with how you can support them further.
Once you’ve made your decision, voting is nice and easy. Simply click on your chosen charity on the right hand side of the screen, and hit the red button to cast your vote! Remember, voting in our charity poll is completely free of charge, and there’s no need to use any of our codes for your vote to count. However, if you’re needing to buy any Valentine’s gifts this February, it’s worth taking a look at our Valentines Deals, as any codes you do shop with will contribute to the donation amount! We’ll be announcing the winner of this month’s poll early in March, so stay tuned!
We also have an exciting change to our charity poll coming up next month which we’re excited to share with you. When our March poll kicks off, we’ll be featuring not three, but four charities! Working with different charities is something we love, and with so many amazing causes out there, we want to feature more of them. We hope that by adding an extra charity to our monthly poll, we’ll be able to raise even more awareness for more good causes! Keep your eyes peeled to find out which fab four will be taking part for March! In the meantime, get voting for February’s winner!
