Next 2026/27 Sale Dates & Top Tips on How to Book a VIP Slot
Next has not yet confirmed the date of its autumn 2026 sale. Based on the retailer’s recent pattern, VIP access is likely to begin in the middle of September, with the main online and in-store sale following that weekend. Saturday 19 September 2026 is a sensible date to watch, but it remains an estimate rather than an announced start date.
The spring and summer events have already taken place. The Next spring sale opened to the public on Saturday 21 March 2026, while the summer sale started online and in stores on Saturday 4 July 2026 after VIP shopping began on Wednesday 1 July.
Next can change its dates and does not publish a complete annual calendar in advance. We will update this page when the autumn sale or the next round of VIP invitations is confirmed. In the meantime, check the Next clearance section and compare it with any current Next voucher codes and offers before paying.

How often does Next have a sale?
Next usually runs four large seasonal events: spring, summer, autumn and winter. The summer and post-Christmas sales tend to receive the most attention, but the retailer also keeps a separate clearance section online between the main events. At the time of checking, the clearance page said that most listed items were half price or less across women’s, men’s and children’s clothing, homeware and selected brands.
Clearance stock and sizes change continually. A low headline price is only useful if the item, colour and size you actually want are available, so check the product page rather than assuming every item in a department has the same reduction.
When is the next Next sale?
The autumn event should be the next large seasonal sale, but no official start date has been published as of 25 August 2026. In 2024 and 2025, VIP shopping opened on a Wednesday in the middle of September. If that pattern continues, priority access could appear around Wednesday 16 September 2026 and the main sale could follow on Saturday 19 September.
Those dates are predictions, not guarantees. Watch your Next account, marketing emails and the retailer’s official social pages from the second week of September. Local store opening times can differ, so check your chosen branch before travelling.
Will Next have a Black Friday sale in 2026?
Black Friday falls on Friday 27 November 2026, but Next has not confirmed a dedicated Black Friday event. It should not be described as one of the retailer’s guaranteed annual sales. Check the live sale and clearance pages closer to the date and compare the final price with other retailers instead of waiting for an unconfirmed promotion.
When will the Next winter sale start?
The 2026 winter sale date has not been announced. Next has previously offered invited customers priority access before Christmas, followed by a wider online and store event during the Christmas period. Store opening arrangements can change from year to year, so do not assume your local branch will open on Boxing Day. This page will be updated when Next publishes the 2026 arrangements.
How do Next VIP sale slots work?
Priority access to the online sale is a benefit associated with Next’s nextpay and pay in 3 credit accounts, although having an account does not guarantee an invitation. Next says invitations go to selected customers, slots are limited and booking is first come, first served. Only invited customers can book through the dedicated VIP sale area, and each customer is limited to one slot.
For the summer 2026 sale, customers had to create an eligible credit account and remain opted in to marketing emails by 11:59pm on 24 June. Next said priority invitations would arrive by 1 July. That deadline has passed and should not be reused for the autumn sale; Next will need to publish a new cut-off date.
If you receive an invitation:
- book an available time promptly, as the earliest slots can fill;
- use the sale preview after booking to check products, sizes and product numbers;
- sign in through the dedicated VIP sale page when your slot starts;
- use the slot you book, because Next says an unused slot may affect priority invitations in future;
- check the delivery estimate before paying, as sale orders do not qualify for next-day delivery.
Next’s current terms do not list the old widely quoted requirements for £250 of available credit, keeping a current-season order or returning less than two-thirds of purchases. These should not be presented as official 2026 eligibility rules.

What to check before placing a Next sale order
A large percentage reduction can be tempting, but the cheapest order is the one that contains only items you intended to buy. Use the preview to make a short list, check whether the same product is cheaper elsewhere and calculate the total after delivery. Avoid adding an unsuitable size or unwanted item simply because stock is limited.
Sale stock, bags and delivery times
All sale stock is subject to availability. Next can restrict the number of products added to a bag during busy periods, and its Save Bag and Save for Later features may be switched off during a main sale. The current online limit is 98 items per order.
Next-day delivery is not available for sale, VIP sale or clearance orders. Next says delivery of in-stock sale items can take up to 28 days, although the estimate shown at checkout is the one to use for your order. Selected-store collection is free; standard home delivery is ÂŁ4.95, and two-person furniture delivery is ÂŁ30.
Is Nextunlimited worth buying for the sale?
Nextunlimited costs ÂŁ24.50 for 12 months and covers standard home and ParcelShop deliveries, subject to its terms. It does not cover products needing two-person furniture delivery, and it does not turn a sale order into next-day delivery.
The subscription costs slightly less than five standard ÂŁ4.95 home deliveries. It is more likely to make sense if you already expect to place at least five separate eligible home-delivery orders during the year. Check the renewal setting too: subscriptions paid by a Next credit account or debit or credit card renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off.
Check the returns route before ordering several sizes
Online sale purchases have the same 28-day return window as full-price online orders, starting the day after delivery or store collection. Returns to most Next stores are free, while courier, ParcelShop, locker and postal returns normally cost ÂŁ2.50 per return. Product exclusions apply.
The rule is different for sale items bought in a physical store: Next currently requires these to be returned within seven days. Outlet and clearance-store purchases also have a seven-day return period, and products marked “I’m Not Perfect” are non-returnable. Keep the receipt, tags and packaging until you know the item is suitable.
Do you need a Next credit account to shop the sale?
No. A credit account can provide priority access if you are invited, but the main sale is open to other shoppers once it starts. Do not open a credit account purely for the chance of an earlier slot unless the borrowing terms suit you and you can manage the repayments.
Next currently advertises 10% off a first qualifying credit purchase of at least ÂŁ20 for eligible new nextpay or pay in 3 customers. The offer can be withdrawn and excludes delivery charges, Nextunlimited subscriptions and gift cards or eVouchers. The nextpay representative rate is 24.9% APR variable. Pay in 3 is interest-free only when the required payments are made in full and on time; otherwise the balance can move to a 34.9% annual variable rate. Interest can easily outweigh a sale saving.
Other ways to save at Next between seasonal sales
- Check clearance: stock remains available online outside the four large seasonal events.
- Use free store collection: selected stores accept sale orders without the standard home-delivery fee.
- Compare partner-brand prices: Next sells many third-party labels, so check the brand’s own site and other authorised retailers before paying.
- Check voucher terms: a code may exclude sale stock, brands, furniture or delivery. Compare the final basket total rather than the headline discount.
- Look at Next Outlet stores: these sell clearance stock throughout the year, but the seven-day returns window is much shorter than for most online orders.

The quickest way to prepare for the next Next sale
Start checking your account and emails in early September, but treat any date as provisional until Next confirms it. If invited, preview the sale and note only the items you genuinely want. If you are not invited, wait for the main event and check the clearance page in the meantime.
Before placing the order, compare the sale price, delivery charge and returns cost with the same item elsewhere. That final-total check is more useful than buying quickly just because a product is marked half price.
