Samsung End Production of Galaxy Note 7 After Yet Another Fire

Samsung are having a torrid time with their Galaxy Note 7, after deeming the model safe recently, they soon discovered that their phones are still catching fire. Rather than recall the phone, this time they have opted to end the production.

This on-going saga for the tech’ giant seemed to have been solved recently. Their original version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had issues with the battery and there were numerous reports of the device setting on fire. Their call to action was to encourage consumers to return their product as soon as possible and stop the sale of all other Note 7 items. There were still problems with this, Samsung’s pride prevented them from offering an official exchange and in order to avoid the legal route, they made their own programme that would allow customers to return their phone. Many thought that this was unsafe and not the appropriate way to treat such a hazard. They recalled over a huge 2.5 million of the Note 7 device.

What Now?

After the original palaver, Samsung’s team had to address the battery issues and prepare a swap for their faithful customers. After undergoing many alterations and improvements they were soon after said to be safe. They reduced the levels of production and didn’t sell as much as they’d like in order to monitor activity.  But then there were soon reports of more fire hazards and smoke coming from the Samsung Galaxy Note. The Korean company have now revealed that they will stop the production of this model.  If you have a phone then don’t waste time or prolong the danger, get your phone back to your provider. Customers can now exchange their phone for another Samsung or get a refund.

Samsung’s Brand Image is Damaged

It looks as though Samsung’s reputation has been tarnished with the latest problems and to cut their losses, they have ended the production on these phones. It would have cost them millions to make such a decision but in addition to people’s safety, they also had to look out for their image. If the fires continued then soon customers would no longer by any version of their phones. Despite the fact that it’s the Samsung Note 7 that had the issue, they would have inevitably lost some of their loyal customers.

Although it’s not been an entirely isolated incident, it is one that has only occurred to the Galaxy Note 7. The manufacturer has taken the problem very seriously and they are now investigating. With all of these actions taken, you can believe that it is unlikely to happen again. The only reports have been concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and not their other phones. Many phone enthusiasts will be making a decision on whether to exchange for another Samsung or make the transition to another operating system.
