April Charity Poll Week 2: Who’s Leading and Why It’s Still Wide Open
We’re a little way into April’s charity poll at My Favourite Voucher Codes now. Not long, but long enough to see some early movement. Four charities, one winner, and a donation made up of 20% of our profits - all decided by your votes!
If you haven’t had a look yet, you can jump straight in here on our Homepage. It takes a few seconds. No forms, no fuss.
There’s still just under three weeks left before things wrap up on 30th April, which is worth keeping in mind. What looks settled now… probably isn’t. These things tend to shift.
How the Charity Poll Works (In Real Terms)
Each month, we pick four charities doing genuinely important work. Different causes, different focuses - but all worth supporting. Then it’s over to you.
You vote, completely free, and at the end of the month the charity with the most votes receives 20% of our profits. That’s it. No complicated mechanics behind the scenes.
It’s simple on purpose. The only thing that really matters is where the votes go.

Where Things Stand Right Now
At the moment, the numbers look like this:
- National Aids Trust – 38%
- The Smallest Things – 35%
- WONDER Foundation – 27%
- Lighthouse Women’s Aid – 0%
A clear leader, technically. But also… not really. There’s only a small gap between first and second, and even third isn’t miles off.
And Lighthouse Women’s Aid? Still waiting on their first votes. Which, actually, says more about timing than anything else.
A Closer Look at This Month’s Charities
National AIDS Trust
The National AIDS Trust works to stop HIV holding people back - whether that’s through stigma, lack of awareness, or inequality in healthcare. You can find more about what they do on their Website.
They’ve come out strong with 38%, which puts them in front for now. And it makes sense. Their work is visible, wide-reaching, and ongoing.
But here’s the thing — early leads don’t always last. If support slows, even slightly, that gap can close faster than expected. So if this is your choice, it’s still worth backing them now.
The Smallest Things
The Smallest Things focuses on premature babies and the families around them, campaigning for better neonatal care and support systems. More on their work on The Smallest Things website.
They’re currently sitting at 35%. Close. Really close.
It wouldn’t take much for them to move into first place - a few more votes in the right moment and things could flip. Their work tends to resonate with people for obvious reasons. It’s immediate. Personal.
If you were waiting to see how things develop… this is probably the point where it matters.
WONDER Foundation
WONDER Foundation supports women and girls around the world through education and skills training, helping create long-term opportunities. You can explore their projects here: https://wonderfoundation.org.uk/.
They’re on 27% at the moment. Not leading, but not out of the running either.
Sometimes these polls shift in waves - one charity picks up momentum, then another. If that happens here, they’re close enough to benefit from it.
And realistically, there’s still plenty of April left.
Lighthouse Women's Aid
Lighthouse Women’s Aid provides support and safe accommodation for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Full details are here: https://www.lighthousewa.org.uk/.
Right now, they’re at 0%.
Which might look surprising at first. But it also means something else - any vote cast here has an immediate impact. You’d see the difference straight away.
Their work is critical. Quiet, often behind the scenes, but absolutely essential. And this is the kind of situation where a bit of attention can go a long way.
Why It’s Still Worth Voting (Even If You Think It’s Decided)
It’s easy to assume the outcome is already taking shape. A leader emerges, the gap looks steady, and that’s that.
Except… it rarely works like that.
With just under three weeks still to go, there’s more than enough time for things to change. A few days of increased voting, a bit of sharing, a shift in attention — it all adds up.
We’ve seen it before. Late surges, unexpected winners. It happens.
If You’re Going to Vote, Do It Now
No pressure — but also, a little bit of pressure. Because timing does matter here.
