The Donkey Sanctuary
The Donkey Sanctuary is a UK based charity working to improving the conditions for donkeys and mules all over the globe. With 45 regional and welfare officers across the UK, the sanctuary has helped over 14,000 donkeys, providing rescue services, advice and information, veterinary care, and training for those working within animal welfare. The sanctuary also runs programmes in India, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Mexico, helping to alleviate the suffering caused by harness wounds, injuries, parasites and disease, as well as advising owners on health and welfare. The Donkey Sanctuary was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE. Sadly, Dr Svendsen passed away in 2011 but her legacy lives on through this incredible setup she created in The Donkey Sanctuary. The Donkey Sanctuary is now internationally recognised and continues to help make a positive impact on donkey’s lives. Their mission is to transform the quality of life for donkeys, mules and people by promoting the collaboration of donkeys and people. Together we can help the lives of both animals and humans, so scroll through The Donkey Sanctuary’s official website. Despite their fantastic efforts up to now they still refuse to rest on their laurels and actually aim to help over 2 million donkeys in over 40 countries. Donkeys and Mules are known as hardworking animals and these traits are often abused by people, The Donkey Sanctuary help counter this in a number of ways. You can join their movement by donating or even volunteering. Another avenue to support The Donkey Sanctuary is to help us donate via our voucher codes. Here at My Favourite Voucher Codes we donate 20% of our voucher codes to a good cause, so utilise our voucher codes and take part in our monthly poll to vote for a charity of your choice.
