KEEN is an award winning charity that is based in Oxford. They pride themselves on being a community organisation. They promote inclusion and friendship. They run recreational, social and sporting activity programmes regularly. These programmes help people from all backgrounds to bond and build relationships within their community. KEEN believe that everyone, regardless of their differences and needs, should be given the same opportunities as everyone else. This means getting involved with community activities and have some fun. KEEN welcome both adults and children with a range of disabilities or needs to take part in their activities and programmes. This is a great way for these people to build relationships and socialise. It also gives these people a environment that may not seem immediately accessible for them in mainstream settings. These people are at the the heart of our community. It is important that they get the same opportunities as their peers. KEEN make sure that this happens.
KEEN puts diversity, vibrancy, fun and friendliness at the centre of everything that they do. They strive to harbour a welcoming environment for all of the people that take part in their community activities. They are a community led organisation. They harness the passion, ideas and energy of their participants. KEEN really do understand the importance of each and every one of the people that they help. All of their sessions coaches, volunteers and team members work as equals with the young and adult participants involved. This is done in order to foster an atmosphere of equality, respect and friendliness. KEEN aim to bring an element of enthusiasm and energy to the lives of those living with disabilities. They aim to get them involved in activities that they wouldn't usually get the opportunity to undergo. And they do it all while laughing and smiling.
