Help to Reduce Homelessness and Vote for The Bridge (East Midlands) this June 2019
The Bridge (East Midlands) is a charitable organisation based in Loughborough, Leicestershire. They provide dedicated early intervention services, support and assistance with the aim of reducing and preventing homelessness across Leicestershire and Rutland. The team at The Bridge believe no one should have to sleep rough. This is why The Bridge are working so hard to prevent and relieve homelessness in the East Midlands.
They are striving towards facilitating a compassionate, collaborative and supportive community that allows people of all backgrounds to live, thrive and work in safe and secure housing. They want people to live to their best potential, and they want communities to work together to prevent homelessness. People deserve shelter, and they deserve a healthy and happy community to surround them.
What services do The Bridge (East Midlands) offer?
That is why The Bridge (East Midlands) offer a wide range of confidential and free services for people across Leicestershire, Rutland and Leicester City. Their services, which focus on positivity and support, include:

Mediation services: this service works with young people who are aged 11-19 to reduce conflict in their relationships and improve their mental health, home life and general well-being.

Homelessness transition for offenders: this service seeks to support past offenders to reintegrate into the community, find accommodation and employment.

Housing Advice service: this is a service that provides advice and support to those who are homeless, or who are at risk of becoming homeless. This includes advice on a range of issues from rent/mortgage arrears, private sector tenancies, disrepair, finding alternative accommodation etc.

The Bridge (East Midlands) was first launched in the Christmas of 1993. It began as a Christmastime homeless shelter but has grown and evolved over the past 25+ years. The Bridge has become a lifeline of support and advice for the local community and they strive to continue providing these services well into the future. They have a strong track record in helping the community and during 2018/19, 94% of surveyed clients, believe the organisation’s intervention enabled them to avoid or resolve their homelessness.
This was thanks to the work, services and positive ethos that The Bridge provided in the local community.
