Vote for Dreamflight to Give Children with Disabilities & Health Conditions the Trip of a Lifetime
Help Dreamflight give children with a significant health condition or disability, new confidence, hope and a belief in what’s possible through life-changing trips. Dreamflight is currently taking part in the My Favourite Voucher Codes charity poll with a chance of winning a donation, and your vote could help them continue to change children’s lives.
What does Dreamflight do?
Dreamflight takes children with a significant health condition or disability on the trip of a lifetime – to the magic of Orlando, or closer to home on a UK adventure. But the journey is about far more than the destination.
It’s a collection of powerful moments – overcoming fears, gaining independence, forming friendships, and discovering abilities they may have once thought were out of reach. And done on their own, perhaps for the very first time. It’s the realisation that they can. And they could. And there’s so much more to discover.
“The whole experience made me feel like I belonged and mattered” – Dreamflight Child
How does your vote help?
A vote for Dreamflight helps make these life-changing experiences possible. It supports the expert volunteers, accessible activities and specialist care that turn each holiday into lasting impact for the children who take part.
The Difference Dreamflight Can Make
A Dreamflight trip is about much more than giving children an exciting experience away from home. For many of the children who take part, it is an opportunity to discover what they are capable of, spend time with others who understand some of the challenges they face and enjoy a new sense of independence.
The charity’s own feedback shows just how much of an impact the experience can have. Following its most recently reported trip:
- 98% of children said they felt more confident about trying something new.
- More than two thirds felt better able to do things independently.
- Almost three quarters said they felt less anxious after taking part.
- 91% rated their Dreamflight experience as ‘excellent’.
Since Dreamflight began in 1987, more than 6,400 children have had the opportunity to take part, with around 192 children supported each year.
Perhaps the biggest impact, though, is what happens after the children return home. Former participants have spoken about feeling more confident at school, finding it easier to make friends and being less frightened of unfamiliar experiences. Others have said the trip helped them feel more comfortable talking about their condition or embracing things about themselves that previously made them feel self-conscious.
For some children, Dreamflight can be the start of seeing themselves, and what might be possible in the future, rather differently.

Dreamflight’s UK Activity Trips
The Orlando trip might be what Dreamflight is best known for, but it isn’t the right option for every child. To make the Dreamflight experience accessible to more young people, the charity also organises shorter trips here in the UK.
These breaks take place at specialist, fully accessible activity centres. This means Dreamflight can consider children with more complex needs who may not be suited to spending 10 days away in Orlando. The UK trips first began during the Covid-19 pandemic, when travelling to the US wasn’t possible. After seeing how much the children gained from the alternative experience, Dreamflight decided to continue them and has now taken four groups on UK trips.
There is plenty for the children to get stuck into, with activities including:
- Climbing and abseiling
- Accessible cycling
- Zip-wiring
- Horse riding
- Swimming
Qualified instructors lead the activities, while Dreamflight’s medical and non-medical volunteers are there to provide additional help and encouragement.
Although these trips are shorter, the idea behind them is much the same. Children are given opportunities to try something different, spend time away from their usual routines and build confidence and independence along the way.
Dreamflight’s next UK activity trip is scheduled for March 2027.
