Telford Crisis Support is an independent, volunteer-run charity offering pragmatic, humanitarian support to those facing financial difficulties.

They are perhaps best known for their invaluable foodbank provision, however, their assistance extends beyond these vital parcels. Their services have evolved to offer other provisions for those in need too, including child and infant clothing and essentials, school uniform and heating costs.

Since launching in 2013, the Telford-based charity has been able to help thousands of people and they continue every day to help those in need throughout the area of Telford & Wrekin, as well as adjacent parts of Shropshire.

What Telford Crisis Support Do

While food bank provision is still the pillar of their work, services continue to grow rapidly. Currently, clients are offered:

• Emergency food parcels for those experiencing immediate difficulty
• Baby clothes and accessories
• Donations of school uniform at extremely reduced prices
• Warm clothing and shoes during the colder winter months
• Home energy support
• Links to a number of other useful services and organisations

As you can see, the above allows for a holistic support system in order to help people develop lasting solutions rather than having to rely on short term help. The Telford Crisis Support team works tirelessly with a large group of dedicated volunteers.

Who are Telford Crisis Support’s Clients?

Anyone can experience financial hardship. Students can fall into debt and struggle to stay afloat; those on a low wage or in part time work can struggle to cope with rising housing and energy costs; families with young children can find it difficult to save sufficient money for school uniform or baby equipment; sudden illness or relationship breakdowns can put family finances under immense pressure; and older residents may be concerned about heating bills.
