Who are The Family and Childcare Trust Charity?
Family and Childcare Trust Charity help struggling families to find parental advice and affordable childcare through their online resources, free workshops and by highlighting wider issues to the public and the government. Through their ongoing research, support and parental programmes they hope to increase the overall support that families have financially, emotionally and physically.
Childcare Advice & Support
They work together with “Contact” to put on free parent-led workshops help provide practical advice for parents in any areas where they are worried about their child’s development, or if they have an additional need or disability. Their workshops are for parents of kids aged 0-5 years, with workshops covering topics from building confidence as a parent and encouraging positive behaviour in your child. They run workshop all over the UK in Grimsby, Blyth, Deckham, Basingstoke and Coventry. Alongside these practical workshops, they offer a range of advice online including childcare guidelines to help you find out what help you can access and the childcare finder to find support in your area.
Research & Parent Led Programmes
Their research surveys focus primarily on young children and the issues relating to poverty, social exclusion and educational challenges which many families have to cope with. Their annual Childcare Survey is the report which defines whether there is enough childcare in the UK and how much it costs. They then share their research with schools, local authorities and parents so they can implement government initiatives to develop their childcare policies effectively. Their parent led support programmes allow parents to gain support from others with experience raising children in difficult circumstances, and to build a network of others to help them when needed.
Voting for the Family and Childcare Trust means they can continue their invaluable work providing disadvantaged families with the care and support they need. As they raise awareness for family issues, research the key problems to local authorities and help implement developed childcare policies, more families can access the childcare and parental advice they need.
