We're Donating £162.37 to the UK Wild Otter Trust This April!
This month, we're really pleased to share that our April charity donation of £162.37 is heading to the UK Wild Otter Trust — and it's all thanks to you and your votes! Every month, 4 charities take part in our free charity poll here at My Favourite Voucher Codes, and the one with the most votes at the end of the month wins a donation of 20% of our profits. The UK Wild Otter Trust won our December charity poll, and because we process and calculate our profits after each poll closes, it takes around four months before the donation is sent. Which means — this is their moment.

Who Are the UK Wild Otter Trust?
The UK Wild Otter Trust is a registered charity who care for the Eurasian otter, helping otters in need and helping to educate people on these iconic creatures. Their team carry out incredible work which involves the careful rescue and rehab of injured and orphaned otters, and managing their release back into the wild. They run the largest specialist otter rehabilitation centre in the UK, with a huge 19 outdoor enclosures, 5 indoor cub rooms, a cub hospital and 2 isolation units, giving them capacity to care for up to 44 animals at once. One of the things that really stands out about them is that every single member of their team is a volunteer. No paid staff. That means donations go straight to the animals, not overheads. It's a proper grassroots operation, and a brilliant one at that.
What Will The £162.37 Donation Go Towards?
It’s always wonderful to chat to our charities and hear how the donation will help them in their amazing work. This month, we spoke to The UK Wild Otter Trust and learned that their £162.37 donation will be used directly to help little otters in need, as it will fund heat pads and lamps for their rescued otter cub rooms!
When an otter cub comes into the care of the Trust, it's often very young, frightened, and completely alone; most often orphaned and in great need of support. In the wild, a cub would spend up to 12 to 18 months with its mother; kept warm, fed, and safe. Without her, that cub cannot regulate their own body temperature. At all. Heat pads and specialist lamps replicate the warmth a mother would naturally provide, and in the earliest, most critical stages of a cub's recovery, that warmth is genuinely the difference between life and death.
The rehabilitation process at UKWOT is a long one — each cub takes up to a year to get fully ready for release, and costs in excess of £3,500 to care for from arrival to the wild. So these aren't pieces of equipment that get used once. They're running constantly, in rooms full of cubs who need round the clock care. Our £162.37 will help keep those rooms warm, and by extension, keep those cubs alive.
Why Every Purchase (and Every Vote) Counts
Since 2012, our community has helped us raise £87,293.85 for charities all over the UK, from charities that help domestic abuse survivors to animal shelters helping find new homes for furry friends. Every time someone uses a voucher code right here at My Favourite Voucher Codes, it contributes to the monthly profits that fund these donations. It all adds up — genuinely. You can read more about why our community voted for the UK Wild Otter Trust back in December, including what they do and how they do it. The support was well deserved, and we're so glad this donation is now on its way to them.
Don't Forget — You Can Vote in This Month's Poll!
