Friendship Works
Friendship Works is a London-based initiative that is part of the national charity Family Action. It provides a much-needed mentoring service for disadvantaged children and young people, offering them support and guidance so they can develop essential life skills and explore new challenges and interests. Friendship Works recruits and trains volunteer mentors before pairing them with a suitable child or young person they can help over the course of two years and in doing so offers a vital service to those socially isolated young people who could have behavioural difficulties, may be young carers themselves, or have experienced bullying. These groups are less likely than other young people to develop their skills or benefit from everyday activities like trips to the park, visiting a museum or going to see a film. Friendship Works offers an invaluable opportunity to not only get advice, but also for these young people to enjoy their childhood like all children should be able to do so.
You can help Friendship Works in many different ways such as making a donation, training to become a Friendship Works mentor yourself, or nominating a young person who might benefit from the Friendship Works services. But you can also help organisations like Friendship Works by using our online savings, because with every deal you benefit from, a great charity also benefits. This is because we give 20% of our profits to a different cause every month, with each recipient being chosen through our monthly polls. As well as using our codes, you can help Friendship Works by nominating them to appear in a future poll, and then giving them your vote. We support many different charities this way – local causes such as Friendship Works, national initiatives and global organisations.
