Hamelin Trust is a leading Essex based charity supporting individuals with disabilities and their parents/carers. They do this by providing the following services:
Day Opportunities:
Reuse and Recycle Projects, Donated I.T. equipment is either refurbished or dismantled for recycling by service users.Donated furniture is refurbished by sanding down and re-applying varnish or paint.Textile recycling in their Sew much fun project - adults learn skills such as dress making, how to use the sewing machines and create a variety of items from lined shoulder bags to head bands. Roots and Shoots is their horticultural project based at Sutton Bridge Farm in Rochford. They provide opportunities for service users to be involved in all aspects of horticulture and garden maintenance. The project is based in over five acres of land, they offer a safe supportive environment.
Short Breaks:
Hamelin House is their short break service for children offering overnight, morning, evening and day care opportunities for children up to the age of 18, throughout the year. Gowlands is their short break respite care facility for adults with disabilities. Fully adapted to meet the physical needs of guests, based at Sutton Bridge Farm.
Hydrotherapy Pool - they have a purpose built and fully equipped pool, with hoists from two large changing rooms over the full length of the pool. It is available for a wider community use.
Outreach -their outreach service provides a range of support to people of all ages with varying degrees of learning, physical or sensory impairments. The service is designed to support children, young people and adults within or from their own home and to access local and universal community facilities and activities.
The Bungalow - They have a purposely designed home to four adults with profound and multiple disabilities. The bungalow is fully wheelchair accessible and equipped to meet their individual needs.
U Matter 2 is our Carer support service across Rochford, Castle point, Basildon, Brentwood and Chelmsford. They hold a range of free activities to upaid adult carers from Yoga classes through to sewing courses.
Charity Shops:
The Hub is their retail charity shop and training area. The adults we support have the opportunity to carry out till training, window dressing and developing displays to showcase items for sale.
