Read on to see how the charity supports these communities in providing high-quality digital educational resources, free of charge.

All About Learn and Thrive

Learn and Thrive is a national UK charity providing online, specialist educational resources to children and young people with Down’s syndrome and other special educational needs (SEN), completely free of charge. The charity currently supports over 5000 children and young people with Down’s syndrome, autism, learning difficulties, and other SEN. Through their videos and downloadable resources, Learn and Thrive’s work supports the Down’s syndrome and SEN community at school, at home, and in support groups.

Learn and Thrive Projects

The charity provides two projects; Teach Me Too and Learning for Life. The former caters to early years (0-7) teaching skills in speech and language, and cognition and learning. The latter is for older children and young adults (7+), built around the primary Relationships and Sexual Education curriculum, teaching key life skills and complex issues, such as emotions, privacy, puberty, healthy lifestyles, and friendships. The charity strongly recommends that the user takes their learner’s specific needs into account, and uses the projects and resources and personalise them as needed. Both of these projects are accessed online through the Learn and Thrive website.
