Survive
Survive is a specialist domestic abuse organisation in South Gloucestershire and Bristol, providing bespoke support for children and young people. Survive was established in 1974 and has an excellent reputation for delivering high quality community based services. We offer a range of services; 1:1 outreach for between 6 – 12 weeks, two group work programmes and an educational programme. The focus of all of our services is to enable children and young people to increase their understanding of domestic abuse, receive support to recover from their experiences and prevent future abuse. For the children and young people that we work with, we offer an opportunity to be heard and a safe space to begin to discuss the impact abuse has had on them.
Why Are We Needed?
130,000 children live in households with high risk domestic abuse. One in five children have been exposed to domestic violence. A third of children witnessing domestic abuse also experienced another form of abuse. 1 in 5 teenagers have been physically abused by their boyfriends of girlfriends.
