Barking Mad Dog Rescue are taking part in the My Favourite Voucher Codes charity poll this December. This dog rescue charity help abandoned dogs in Romania to find their forever homes here in the UK, and provide sanctuary to many dogs which are unable to be rehomed for a variety of reasons. The charity was born in 2015 after they had been helping dogs in Romania since the 'killing law' was passed there back in 2013. It is far worse than a dog's life in Romania for so many dogs. What Do Barking Mad Dog Rescue Do?
Barking Mad Dog Rescue provides a lifeline for abandoned and persecuted dogs in Constanta district, in eastern Romania, on the Black Sea Coast. Their shelters are in a small rural village. These shelters are entirely funded by donations and provide sanctuary for an average of 400 dogs. Their dogs receive veterinary attention as needed, good food and daily care. All are known and loved individually by the small Romanian team who care for them every day. Fundraising is essential to keep these innocent dogs housed, fed and cared for. Please vote for us!
Sanctuary for Vulnerable Dogs
Adoptable dogs are promoted for new homes in the UK and through their compassionate German friends and partners too. They have a comprehensive veterinary audit trail for their dogs, taking meticulous care with each. They have many permanent canine residents who might be old, vulnerable or damaged in some ways. They are with them for their lifetime. Many of these dogs have been through trauma.
Permanent Shelter Development
Barking Mad Dog Rescue are moving towards having a purpose built, permanent shelter close to their present one, step by step, as funds allow. Ultimately, this will give them room for a veterinary clinic and a community room. Barking Mad Dog Rescue are already very engaged with most people in the village, many of whom rely on BMDR to treat and feed their own dogs. They know their message is spay, spay, spay!
Spaying and Neutering
Spaying and neutering is vital to reducing the numbers of abandoned and stray dogs, let alone pet dogs, in the locality, who are often free to wander at will. Thanks to the care and compassion of their supporters, they have run many successful spay campaigns over the last few years. Voting for them can support this vital work.
