What hasn't been confirmed yet is the precise start date of the main sale. Given that the 2025 promotion began on 31 October, it's sensible to start watching prices before November, but we shouldn't assume the same timetable will apply this year.

The retailer's official Black Friday 2026 page identifies technology, toys, home products, appliances and beauty among the categories to watch.

Popular Categories in the Argos Black Friday Sale

Argos sells a wide range of products, but the categories worth watching will depend on what you actually need. A discounted console may be more appealing than a kitchen appliance, but the size of the advertised percentage reduction tells you very little about which is better value.

These are some of the products and brands I'd keep an eye on for Black Friday 2026, along with the details that matter when comparing offers.

One category where I would be particularly careful is laptops. A heavily discounted entry-level HP laptop might look attractive, but limited memory or storage can make it a poor choice for somebody who needs to run several applications or keep the machine for years.

With air fryers, the comparison can be just as misleading. A cheaper single-drawer Ninja model isn't necessarily a better deal than a more expensive dual-drawer version if the latter suits how your household cooks. Product suitability should come before the percentage discount.

Last Year's Argos Black Friday Deals - What Can We Learn for 2026?

Rather than guessing what Argos might discount this year, I think it's more useful to look at what actually appeared in the 2025 sale.

Black Friday 2025 included reductions across Apple laptops, PlayStation consoles, Ninja appliances, headphones and other technology. Some were genuinely competitive prices, while others needed closer comparison.

The Ninja example is particularly interesting. Expert Reviews reported that the 4.7L model reached a new low of £80 in 2025, compared with £89 during Black Friday 2024. That is a meaningful saving, but it only tells us about that particular model, not every Ninja product sold by Argos.

For 2026, I would therefore focus on the exact products you want rather than expecting last year's prices or discounts to return.

When Does the Argos Black Friday Sale Start?

The important confirmed dates are:

• Friday 27 November 2026: Black Friday.
• Monday 30 November 2026: Cyber Monday.

Argos has confirmed there will be deals before Black Friday, but hasn't yet announced the date the main 2026 promotion will begin or end.

In 2025, the event ran from 31 October to 2 December. That is useful historical context, not a guarantee of this year's schedule.

It is worth checking prices in the weeks beforehand, especially if you are considering a larger purchase such as a television, washing machine, laptop or games console. A price recorded now provides a useful reference when the Black Friday advertising begins.

What Happened During Argos Black Friday 2025?

One of the most interesting features of the 2025 event was Argos's Black Friday Price Guarantee.

Selected products carrying the Price Guarantee badge were protected against further reductions in their displayed Argos price until midnight on Christmas Day 2025. If Argos subsequently lowered its displayed price during the qualifying period, it promised to issue an eGift Card covering the difference.

There were important restrictions. The guarantee only applied to specifically badged products bought during the qualifying promotion, and the compensation was store credit rather than money returned to the original payment method.

It also wasn't a competitor price-match promise. A cheaper price at Currys, John Lewis or Amazon would not, by itself, have triggered a payment.

Argos also excluded voucher-code reductions when assessing the guaranteed displayed price. So if a separate discount code reduced your checkout total, that wasn't necessarily the price used for the guarantee comparison.

Will the Argos Black Friday Price Guarantee Return in 2026?

As of 8 October 2026, Argos has not confirmed whether the 2025 Price Guarantee will return.

If it does, the first thing to check will be which products actually qualify. Last year, a Black Friday badge and a Price Guarantee badge meant different things. Seeing the first didn't mean the product was covered by the second.

There is another distinction worth understanding. Argos's 2025 Black Friday guidance explained that:

• "Our lowest price" meant the lowest Argos price for that product in the previous six months.
• "Our lowest price ever" meant the lowest price Argos itself had charged for that product.
• "Price Guarantee" identified an eligible product covered by the separate 2025 guarantee conditions.

None of these descriptions automatically meant that another retailer couldn't offer the same product for less.

These definitions are from the 2025 Argos Black Friday terms. Any new guarantee or promotional labels for 2026 will need to be checked against this year's conditions.

How to Make the Most of Argos Black Friday Deals

My starting point is always a shopping list, not a sale page. If you know which television, appliance or Christmas gift you actually want, it's much easier to recognise a worthwhile discount.

• Record the price beforehand: Make a note of the current Argos price of the exact product and model.
• Compare the complete product: Check model numbers, specifications, accessories and bundle contents rather than relying on photographs.
• Look for relevant promotional codes: Argos sometimes requires a product-specific code rather than applying the advertised reduction automatically.
• Consider collection: Click & Collect may avoid delivery charges where the product is available locally.
• Check the final price: Include delivery and necessary extras before deciding which retailer offers the better deal.

I wouldn't recommend buying something simply because it has a large red discount label. Equally, if an item you already intended to buy reaches a genuinely competitive price before Black Friday, waiting until the final weekend isn't guaranteed to save you more.

Argos uses a mixture of automatic price reductions, bundle promotions and voucher codes. The distinction matters because a product may appear to have a discount available, but the checkout price won't change until the correct code has been applied.

A useful current example is the October 2026 Big Red Event. Argos is offering different percentage reductions on selected products using codes for 10%, 15%, 20%, 30% and 50% off, depending on eligibility.

The event runs until 13 October 2026, so these are October offers rather than confirmed Black Friday discounts.

That represents a 12.5% saving on a qualifying £40 purchase. However, the discount is subject to eligibility and may not remain available through Black Friday. It is also worth checking whether it can be combined with other reductions rather than assuming both offers apply.

Christmas Presents and Gift Planning

Argos has a particularly broad Christmas gift range, including LEGO sets, Nintendo and PlayStation games, headphones, tablets, beauty products and household appliances.

Buying Christmas presents during Black Friday can make sense if you already know what someone wants. Be more careful with games, consoles and technology, where an older version can appear heavily discounted shortly before newer products become more widely available.

The Argos App

Argos is also advertising occasional app-only promotions and product launches. That makes the app worth checking alongside the main website, although no specific Black Friday 2026 app-exclusive discount has yet been confirmed.

Payment Options

Argos offers credit options on qualifying purchases. These can spread the cost of an expensive television or appliance but shouldn't be confused with a genuine reduction in the purchase price.

Check the applicable credit terms, any interest-free period and the cost of borrowing before using finance to pay for a sale item. A discount is less attractive if interest charges eventually outweigh the money saved.

Argos Plus, Nectar and Delivery Savings in 2026

Delivery charges can affect the value of a Black Friday purchase, particularly when several items are ordered separately.

Argos currently offers free Click & Collect on qualifying items, while eligible smaller-product orders of £100 or more may qualify for free delivery. Orders must meet the applicable delivery conditions.

Argos Plus is another option. The membership costs £40 for 12 months and covers eligible same-day, next-day and standard deliveries on qualifying online orders of at least £20. It doesn't automatically renew.

Is Argos Plus Worth Paying For?

The answer depends on how often you'd otherwise pay for delivery.

Argos's published same-day delivery charge starts at £7.95. At that rate, five separate deliveries would cost £39.75, almost the same as an annual Argos Plus membership. Six would cost £47.70, making the membership £7.70 cheaper if every order qualified.

But if you only make one or two orders, or normally collect your purchases for free, paying £40 purely for Black Friday would be difficult to justify.

A Ninja air fryer might be reduced early, while a console bundle could become more competitive closer to Black Friday. Neither is a guaranteed pattern for 2026.

For higher-value products, I prefer to compare a handful of exact models over several weeks. It's more useful than watching a general category sale because retailers frequently sell several generations or variations of what appears to be the same product.

If your preferred item is unavailable locally, check delivery options before switching to a more expensive alternative simply because it is in stock.

How Argos Compares to Other Retailers on Black Friday

Argos competes with Amazon, Currys, John Lewis and other retailers across technology, gaming and appliances. Its collection network is a practical advantage, especially if you want a purchase quickly, but Argos won't necessarily have the lowest price on every item.

Gaming provides a useful example of why checking competitor prices matters.

During early October 2026, the Nintendo Switch 2 console was reported at £380 at Argos, while Amazon had temporarily reduced the same console to £354.99 during its October Prime event.

That was a £25.01 difference on the reported prices. It shows that even a well-known high-street retailer can be undercut during another retailer's promotion.

The prices were a dated October comparison, not a Black Friday price guarantee. They may have changed since, but the principle remains useful: compare the exact model, check any membership or delivery requirements and calculate what you will actually pay.

Bundles can change the result too. A PlayStation package including an additional game or controller may offer better value than a cheaper standalone console, but only if you genuinely want the extras.

Argos Cyber Monday 2026: What Happens Next?

Cyber Monday falls on Monday 30 November 2026, three days after Black Friday.

In 2025, Argos continued its sale beyond Cyber Monday. Whether that happens again this year will depend on its final promotional schedule, which hasn't yet been confirmed.

Cyber Monday is worth checking if something on your wishlist hasn't reached the price you wanted. But it isn't automatically better for laptops, televisions or smaller accessories, and popular products may have limited availability by then.

How to Spot Genuine Argos Black Friday Bargains

One of the biggest mistakes shoppers make is assuming that a large advertised discount means a product is at its lowest price of the year.

Research published by Which? in November 2025 examined 175 products from eight major retailers, including Argos, using price observations from May 2024 to May 2025.

It found that 83% of the products were available for the same price or less at least once outside the four-week Black Friday sales period. This was a finding across all eight retailers, not a figure specific to Argos.

That doesn't mean every Black Friday deal is poor. The £80 Ninja air fryer sold by Argos in 2025, for example, was reported by Expert Reviews as a new low for that model.

It does show why checking the actual selling price matters more than believing every discount label.

For televisions, I would pay attention to screen technology, refresh rate and model year. For laptops, memory, storage and processor specifications are important. And for appliances, features and capacity can make a bigger difference to long-term satisfaction than saving another £10.

There are also useful distinctions between Argos's own promotional labels, as explained earlier. An Argos lowest-price claim isn't the same as a claim that the product is the cheapest available anywhere.

Returns and Guarantees on Argos Black Friday Purchases

Anyone buying Christmas presents should pay attention to the returns deadline.

For 2026, Argos has confirmed that eligible items purchased between 23 September and 25 December 2026 can be returned until 31 January 2027.

That extended period covers Black Friday purchases, although the normal return conditions and relevant product exclusions still matter.

For change-of-mind returns, items generally need to meet Argos's resale condition requirements. Larger purchases may involve collection arrangements and charges where applicable, while faulty goods are treated differently.

Black Friday shouldn't be an excuse to replace things that still work perfectly well. I would rather buy an appliance that lasts or a laptop with specifications suitable for the next few years than save money on something that needs replacing prematurely.

For larger electrical purchases, look at repair options, warranty terms and running costs as well as the initial selling price. With furniture, think about measurements and how easy an item would be to return before ordering it for home delivery.

Buying something you genuinely need at a fair price is a better result than being persuaded to spend because an offer appears generous.

Final Thoughts

Argos Black Friday 2026 takes place on Friday 27 November, and the retailer has confirmed there will be offers in the run-up to the event.
