Oreo’s New Choco Chip Cookie Doesn’t Contain Chocolate

The reason Oreo don’t name their products with the word ‘chocolate’ is because they aren’t legally allowed. To display that title would be to mislead consumers although similar arguments could still be made.

Believe it or not their new choco chip cookie does not include chocolate and many of their recent releases haven’t included enough of a chocolate percentage either. This means that the FDA and other food bodies will not allow the company to name their products with the word chocolate as it would be misrepresenting the snack.

Does It Make A Difference that the Biscuit is Chocolate Free?

Probably not, it’s still tasty and many consumers have described the similarities with chocolate chip. So it definitely has a similar taste and many junk food enthusiasts have taken a liking to the Oreo Choco Chip Cookie. Many potential customers might be wondering what is actually in the cookie. There’s a lot of soy and two years ago the ingredients displayed chocolate as one of the last ingredients. It was after a compilation of artificial colouring and other dubious additions.
