Which Uber Eats Discount Code Should You Use for Your Next Order?

The live offers above currently cover two different situations: a promotion aimed at eligible new customers across their first five orders and a separate 30% saving. If you are new to Uber Eats, compare the first-five-orders offer with the orders you genuinely expect to place rather than being swayed by the larger headline percentage. If your account is not eligible for a new-customer promotion, check whether the terms of the other live voucher fit your basket instead.

Restaurant takeaway or groceries: the saving works differently

Uber Eats is not only restaurant delivery. Its UK grocery listings include supermarket and convenience shopping, with stores such as Co-op, ASDA, Sainsbury’s, Iceland and Morrisons appearing depending on location. Uber Eats shows its current grocery delivery options here.

A percentage voucher can therefore have a very different cash value from one order to another. Thirty per cent off a £15 lunch is £4.50; 30% off a qualifying £35 grocery top-up is £10.50. Those are simple examples, not claims about the terms of a particular voucher. What matters is whether you needed the food, fresh produce, frozen items or household basics in the basket before the discount appeared.

What can change the final price after an Uber Eats discount code?

Fees are the part I would check before deciding that one offer is definitely cheaper.

Uber's UK fee guide says restaurant orders delivered by Uber currently carry a Service Fee of 12% of the subtotal, between £0.99 and £3.29, with a £0.99 small-order fee below a £10 restaurant subtotal. Grocery, Retail and Convenience orders use a 10% Service Fee, between £0.99 and £2.99, plus a £3 small-order fee below £15. Uber publishes the current UK fee structure here.

Delivery Fees currently range from £0.29 to £14.99 and vary with factors such as location, restaurant and nearby courier availability. Uber explains the Delivery Fee range and other possible charges here. So if a promotion removes £6 from the food, I would still look at the whole checkout rather than assume the final bill has fallen by the same percentage.

A restaurant offer can beat an Uber Eats voucher code

Some savings sit with the restaurant rather than in a voucher box. Uber lets participating merchants run Buy One Get One Free deals, free-item offers after a minimum basket spend, percentage reductions on items or categories, whole-basket discounts and £0 Delivery Fee offers. Uber lists the merchant offer types available on its platform here.

If two people were already ordering two £12 mains, a genuine Buy One Get One Free offer would remove £12 from the food cost. Thirty per cent off £24 would remove £7.20. In that example the restaurant deal is stronger. If the second main was only added because it was free, it is a different decision. The useful Uber Eats discount code is the one that reduces an order you actually wanted.

New customers, regular orders and Uber One

Uber says some promotions only apply to particular user types, including first-time Uber Eats customers. Uber confirms that account eligibility can form part of a promotion's terms. That makes the new-customer wording on an Uber Eats voucher code just as important as the percentage beside it.

Regular users have another option. Standard Uber One membership currently costs £4.99 a month or £49.99 a year in the UK. Eligible food, grocery and other orders from participating businesses can receive £0 Delivery Fee once the minimum order amount is met, with extra savings on some orders. If Uber Eats is an occasional treat, a suitable Uber Eats discount code may be enough. If you order frequently, I would compare the membership cost with the delivery and other eligible savings you would realistically use.

Do students get an Uber Eats discount?

There is a genuine student route, but it is a membership rather than a normal checkout voucher. Uber's UK terms say qualifying students at an accredited college or university may be offered Uber One Student at a discounted monthly or annual price. Eligibility is verified and rechecked annually, with Uber using SheerID for the verification process. Uber's UK membership terms explain Uber One Student here.

I would keep that separate from a normal checkout voucher. A student membership benefit and a one-off promotion do not necessarily follow the same rules.

What about NHS and Blue Light discounts?

The official NHS offer I found was time-limited rather than permanent. Uber gave eligible NHS and HSC staff £10 off one meal or grocery delivery on Christmas Day 2025, with registration and redemption deadlines attached. That offer has expired. Uber's 2025 NHS promotion shows the eligibility and expiry details. I would not treat that old promotion as a current NHS or Blue Light Uber Eats discount code.

Pickup can change the value of an Uber Eats promo code

If the restaurant is nearby, compare pickup with delivery before paying. Uber says prices and offers shown on Uber Eats may differ from those available directly from the merchant and can also vary depending on whether an order is collected or delivered. Uber's pricing guidance confirms this.

Collection is not automatically cheaper once time and travel are considered, but seeing both totals gives you something concrete to compare with the promotion you planned to use.

How do you add an Uber Eats discount code?

Uber's current instructions are simple. Its official help page gives the same process.

1. Open Uber Eats and tap the profile icon.
2. Select Promotions, then Enter Promo Code.
3. Enter the Uber Eats discount code and tap Apply.
4. Check that the promotion is attached before placing the order.

Uber says a promotion must be added before ordering. Only one promo code can be used on an order, and unused value from a fixed-amount promotion does not roll over. Uber confirms those restrictions here.

Why has my Uber Eats voucher code not worked?

When an Uber Eats voucher code fails, I would check the order conditions before trying alternatives. Uber says active promotions show details including expiry and location, while redeemed and expired offers can also be reviewed in the app. Uber explains where to check promotion status here.

• The Uber Eats promo code has expired.
• It is not valid for your location, currency or account type.
• The restaurant, shop or order does not meet the promotion's conditions.
• The offer has already been redeemed where only one use is allowed.
• The Uber Eats discount code was entered after the order was placed.

If the saving applied successfully, Uber says it should appear in the order charge breakdown or receipt. Uber's help page explains how to check.

Cancelled orders, missing items and refunds

A discount is less useful if a cancellation leaves you paying anyway. Uber says cancellation is free before the merchant accepts an order; after acceptance, charges may apply. Uber's cancellation policy explains the current rule.
