6 Reasons You Should Always Shop Online in the Sales
The week in between Christmas a New Year is a strange one. You exist on a diet of After Eights, dry roasted peanuts and sausage rolls, you’re not entirely sure what day it is, and your viewing material is rolling kids’ films interjected with the occasional news bulletin to make sure the outside world is still standing (something which isn’t always guaranteed in these troublesome times).
In days of yore, this period might have been spent queueing up outside your favourite department store in the hope you could grab a genuine post-Christmas bargain, but thankfully now you don’t have to get changed out of your pyjamas to benefit from the sales. In case you need reminding, here are some of the many reasons you should ALWAYS do your sales shopping online.
No Queueing (Almost)
Queueing, so much queueing. If it’s not outside in the freezing cold waiting for the doors to open then it’s for the changing room, and if it’s not for the changing room then it’s for the till. Ok, so online queueing isn’t completely unheard of for particularly popular stores during sales periods, but at least you get do it sitting down whilst getting on with your day/watching TV. We know queueing is part of the British national psyche, but thank goodness there are ways around it these days.
Best Choice
Unless live near a massive branch of that favourite department store then you’re always going to be limited when it comes to styles and sizes when venturing to the sales racks in person. At least when you’re shopping online you get a pretty decent choice of reserves, something that’s severely lacking in some branches come January. And if you shop online with our Debenhams voucher codes, then there’s an additional 10% saving to be had when you spend £50 or more, as well as free delivery. Absolutely no queuing required.
No Panic Buying
One of the downsides on internet shopping is the opportunity it gives to purchase items when you’re not quite yourself (inebriated in other words, or ‘tired and emotional’). However, during sales periods, it does afford you a bit of time to just stop, take a breath and ask yourself if you really need that toaster/neon pink bikini/snowsuit, something you can’t always do in other pressurised shopping environments. We have all been struck by the curse of the panic buy during the sales at some point in our lives, but with our New Look voucher codes, you can have a more leisurely browse in their online sale which can save you up to 70% off, and there’s also the chance to get free next day delivery when you spend £75 or more.
No Pushing and Shoving
The chances of panic buying might be exacerbated somewhat by this next point. Going into a busy shop during the sales can result in a lot of pushing and shoving, and in January this is made all the worse by the fact we’re all rugged up in winter coats and getting a bit hot and bothered. The resulting furore could mean we either pick up something we don’t really want just to quicken up the process, or end up going home empty-handed. However, with online shopping there’s no rush to leave your laptop, unless it’s to put the kettle on for another cup of tea, and you can use House of Fraser discount codes to get up to 50% off across all their departments AND free delivery when you spend £50 or more. AND you won’t get an elbow in the ribs.
No Changing Rooms
Some might say the downside of online shopping is that you’re never guaranteed the right size. We say we’d rather take advantage of quick and easy to use returns services rather than have to wrangle with items in a changing cubicle the size of a postage stamp.
No Carting Your Bargains Home on Public Transport
If you’re lucky in the January sales, you might end up with quite a few bag’s worth of fashion purchases. Excellent on one level, on another not so much, because if you’re shopping in the city centre, this means having to get them home on a crowded public transportation system. Good luck with that.
So unless you’re a person who actually loves going from shop to shop and scouring the sales racks, we suggest you fire up the laptop, put your feet up and become a January sales guru from the comfort of your own home.
