Support Unwanted and Abandoned Animals this July by Voting for Ferne Animal Sanctuary
This July, Ferne Animal Sanctuary is taking part in My Favourite Voucher Codes monthly charity poll, to help raise vital funds for animals in need. They are competing in this month’s poll to win a donation of 20% of My Favourite Voucher Codes profits which will help to make an incredible difference to the lives of animals at Ferne.
What Does Ferne Animal Sanctuary Do?
Ferne Animal Sanctuary has been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need for over 80 years. The sanctuary is home to over 300 domestic animals and farm animals, who find themselves in need of rescue, care, attention and a safe place to call home. Since 1929, when Ferne was founded by Nina, Duchess of Hamilton and Brandon, they have been passionate about animal welfare and want to encourage others to help them make a difference; whether that’s through becoming a regular supporter or volunteering time to help them continue their vital work.
The sanctuary is open to the public, so individuals, couples and families can enjoy a visit to the beautiful countryside of the Blackdown Hills, where you will have the opportunity to see some of the animals that Ferne cares for and learn about the incredible work they do. As a sanctuary, many of the animals have had difficult experiences with humans, and therefore may not be available for you to see. This means you may see several of the residents during your visit or only a few, as the wellbeing of the animals is at the forefront of every aspect of Ferne Animal Sanctuary. However, the Sanctuary offers a wide range of things to do during your visit, including the many educational activities for children and adults such as guided tours and educational workshops.
The charity also has an onsite café and gift shop where visitors’ contributions directly support the wellbeing and care of their animals. They also have seasonal events and challenges from scavenger hunts to walking trails so you can always find something fun to do at Ferne Animal Sanctuary. You can check out their Visit the Sanctuary page to learn more about what you can do on your visit, as well as find ticket prices, annual passes and exclusive ticket discounts. The sanctuary is located at Wambrook, Chard, TA20 3DH.
Help Change the Lives of Animals like Bueno
Bueno was brought to Ferne Animal Sanctuary as a stray, he was very malnourished and had a nasty skin infection. The dedicated Animal Care team nourished Bueno to a healthy range for a cat his size and gave him antibiotics and pain relief for his extensive sores.
With time, Bueno’s skin started to heal, and he put on good weight. He is a real favourite amongst the team, who worked hard to nurse him back to health. Bueno didn’t have a voice to ask for help when he was cold and alone outside, but because someone spoke for him, he was given the second chance that every animal deserves.
Ferne’s supporters ensure that they are always there for animals in need like Bueno.
