Positively life-changing.
Improving lives for those who receive a leukaemia diagnosis through research to develop kinder and more effective treatments.
Every day, 28 people in the UK receive the devastating news that they have leukaemia. For those who receive this diagnosis, it has a devastating impact on their lives, and those around them. Over 4,700 lives are lost to leukaemia each year in the UK.
Further research is desperately needed to develop kinder and more effective treatments. We need your help to stop leukaemia devastating lives.
What do we fund?
Our prestigious Leukaemia UK John Goldman Fellowships for novel research projects into treatments for leukaemia
Leukaemia UK provides Project Grants to the haemato-oncology research community to fund experienced researchers whose teams are advancing the fundamental understanding of leukaemia and related conditions and who are striving for improvements in diagnosis or treatment.
Leukaemia UK joint-funds clinical research training fellowships with the Medical Research Council (MRC Fellowships). These fellowships offer clinical professionals the vital opportunity to launch novel research projects that combine these two fields of expertise. They provide a valuable opportunity for clinically active professionals who are researching kinder and more effective treatments for leukaemia and whom wish to further develop their research by undertaking a higher research degree (PhD or MD).
Leukaemia UK is a key funding partner for the IMPACT initiative for stem cell transplant (SCT) clinical trials. These clinical trials play a crucial role in forming the evidence base for new approaches to treatment and are essential if patient survival rates following an SCT are to be increased.
Leukaemia UK funds a ground-breaking Mind & Body programme at King’s College London.
