Find Out Our Lineup for Our July 2020 Charity Poll!
Who’d have thought we’d be entering July so soon? This year has certainly gone by in a blur - albeit not the way we were expecting! However, with more of the lockdown being lifted this weekend, hopefully we can start to enjoy the summer. Of course, a new month brings with it a new charity poll, and today we’re kicking July off with four more amazing charities! Before we do that, we have to say a huge congratulations to SPANA who are the winners for June, with 56% of the votes! As always, a big thank you to all four of our June charities for taking part, and to you all at home for getting involved too. Stay tuned for October, as this is when we’ll be announcing how much we’ve raised!
Here’s some even more good news! In case you missed it, in June we announced the donation total for Youth Action Wiltshire, the winners of our February poll. Youth Action Wiltshire is an award winning project run by local charity Community First, and thanks to our users, we were able to donate £152.73! This donation will go towards projects that support and empower young people throughout Wiltshire, steering them towards brighter futures. It’s thanks to you that we’re able to make donations like this, so keep on using our voucher codes so we can continue helping even more good causes!
Our July Charity Poll
We have four more wonderful charities taking part in our July poll, so read on to find out this month’s lineup! Remember, you can find out more about each one by clicking through to their bio pages, where you’ll also find links to their websites if you’d like to support them further.
Barking Mad Dog Rescue
Barking Mad Dog Rescue is a UK based charity that rescues and rehomes abandoned dogs in Romania. Stray dogs in Romania are routinely abused and tortured, and with public shelters being paid to kill them, it has led to an increase in capturing and slaughtering of street dogs. Barking Mad have shelters in Romania where they care for over 500 dogs and puppies, providing them with the love, food, and medical care they deserve. In the UK, they have a team of adopters working to rehome as many of the dogs as they can, pairing them up with new homes to give them a second chance at life.
Cash For Kids
Cash For Kids is a grant giving charity that aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and their families in the UK. They are a network of charities that operate across 22 communities within the country, raising millions of pounds each year for children and families that need it most. They recently launched their appeal to support families who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. Many households on low incomes will have felt an even bigger strain on their finances as a result of the pandemic, and this can often affect the children in these families. Cash For Kids are currently raising money to help these families cover basic essentials during this difficult time in order to help ease some of the financial burden.
PKD Charity
PKD Charity supports those in the UK who are affected by polycystic kidney disease (PKD). PKD is a range of genetic disorders that can cause kidney failure and damage to other organs in the body, and it’s estimated that around 70,000 adults and children in the country may be living with it. PKD Charity aims to support patients with the disorder and their families, and they work to raise awareness of the condition among the medical profession and the general community. The charity also has a research fund which allows them to support scientific research into the condition, with the aims of discovering new treatments and ultimately, a cure.
Scottish Refugee Council
Finally, completing our lineup, we have Scottish Refugee Council. This is an independent charity that provides support to people in need of refugee protection in Scotland. They these people rebuild their lives in a number of different ways, including family support services, employment support, and dedicated support for children and young people. Their ultimate aim is for all refugees in Scotland to be made to feel welcome and to have their human rights and dignity respected. Ultimately, Scottish Refugee Council are able to provide protection and support to refugees, allowing them to reach their full potential.
