About Pecan Charity:
Pecan is a community development charity based in Peckham. We work with the local community to help people find a way through seemingly impossible barriers to a better future.
Over the past 30 years, we’ve seen thousands clients flourish through our programs, including: ex-offenders and their families, refugees and asylum seekers, young people and the long-term unemployed. We see our service users as people who need supporting – not problems which need solving.
We advocate for those we work with, challenging inequality and injustice at a local and national level to provide hope and belief in a better a future for our community.
Future Plans of Pecan:
Pecan is looking to help more people in the Southwark area more than ever. Our operations in the Foodbank and Peckham Pantry increased significantly thanks to the generosity shown by people and organizations. As part of our association with Trussell Trust, we are also working on an innovative ‘Pathfinder’ program for Foodbanks, which is designed to envision a future where there isn’t any need for Foodbanks.
How Can You Help Pecan Charity Support Those in Crucial Need?
Pecan’s supporters are the reason we are able to continue developing local communities. When you make a donation to Pecan you show someone a kindness that encourages belief in community, and hope for a better future. Thank you!
