Support The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home This October by Casting A Vote

The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home is run by South Cotswolds RSPCA and have been working to alleviate animal suffering and cruelty for over 80 years in the county of Gloucestershire. The organisation is independently run and all their funds come from the local community, and a network of 10 charity shops. The charity, and the work it does has progressed enormously in the last few years.

In September 2016 they proudly opened the doors to a brand-new animal centre which takes in over 250 animals who have suffered abuse, neglect and abandonment every year. Aside from rehoming, one of their main objectives is to carry out direct animal welfare work in the county. A significant part of their work is supporting animals living in the community belonging to families on low incomes, ensuring animals do not suffer from neglect because of cost. They have three low cost veterinary clinics which aim to help approximately 800 animals each year.

What Do The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home Do?

The charity’s main organisational aims are to:

• Rescue ill-treated cats and dogs throughout the Cotswolds area.

• Help abandoned animals who are found injured.

• Find new homes for hundreds of unwanted animals each year.

• Provide a low-cost veterinary service and help vouchers to disadvantaged members of the community. 

• Give help and advice to members of the community through their campaigns and events.

• Encourage responsible pet ownership by offering services such as neutering and microchipping, helping to prevent more unwanted or lost animals.

• Increase opportunities for employment, work placement and volunteering.

How is The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home Funded?

While they are run by the South Cotswolds branch of the RSPCA and affiliated with the national charity, The Cotswolds Dogs & Cats Home is an independent charity. This means that any donations generously given from supporters and from within the community stay directly with charity, ensuring that the animals they’re home to are all of the love and care that they need.
