Vote for The Sleep Charity and Help Britain Sleep Better
Good sleep impacts everything from how we feel to how we think and function in our daily lives, but for many, a good night's sleep isn't a given. Poor sleep affects everyone of all ages for a number of reasons, and it can impact many areas of life including families, work, relationships and mental health. This is why we are excited to feature The Sleep Charity in this September's My Favourite Voucher Codes Charity Poll!
Who Are The Sleep Charity?
With so many people feeling the impacts of sleep deprivation, there should be an overwhelming amount of resources that people can call upon. However, there is such little support for people experiencing sleep problems and the impacts of it in their day to day lives, that The Sleep Charity is a vital lifeline for so many. They explain how sleeping plays a crucial part of well-being which affects both our physical and mental health, and that there are ways that people can go about seeking effective solutions to help them get a better night's sleep.
The Sleep Charity aims to make reliable, evidence-based sleep information and support accessible for all, and have dedicated themselves to this cause since 2012. They have supported numerous individuals, families, professionals, workplaces, and communities, providing them with accessible and practical ways to better understand and improve sleep.
They provide support through professional training by working with organizations directly, provide personal family care for adults and children, and create national campaigns in order to individuals who need sleep solutions as well as raising awareness through every avenue that they possibly can.
Supporting People to Understand Sleep
Sleep can be an incredibly frustrating aspect of human function; some people may find it simply impossible to drop off to sleep whereas others may be completely unaware of the impact that sleep problems may be having on their daily life.
One crucial benefit of the work that The Sleep Charity do is that they aim to support and encourage people to talk about their sleep problems, whilst giving the appropriate advice so that they may begin to feel better about the personal issues with which they find themselves confronted. They support both adults and children, helping teach people about the impact of things like blue light, alcohol, caffeine, exercise, bedtime routines and all of the other things which can impact the quality of our sleep.
Whether it is a family that needs advice, professionals looking to enhance their sleep knowledge or employers looking to support employees, the charity is a valuable resource providing trustworthy information to individuals that allows them to begin to improve their overall state of being for a healthier, happier future ahead.
Training, Research and Raising Awareness
Since the launch of the charity back in 2012, their knowledge and services have been in high demand. They have managed to gain the trust and support from health professionals through educating them on better sleep practices that can prevent both sleep difficulties occurring when those struggling the most seek information from the various resources available.
Their research in the field is of particular importance; they help to understand issues which many people don't readily consider and this research informs both public campaigns, awareness initiatives and also ensures that only accurate and up to date information is being provided to the public. However, the charity aims not only to assist individuals at a personal level, they also invest a great deal of time in training professionals through their comprehensive training packages.
They directly assist people experiencing sleep disorders whilst continuing to reach out and teach professionals how better sleep affects personal health. Their research allows them to pinpoint common problems that often require more public awareness, meaning they can help fund campaigns aimed at ensuring better knowledge across people throughout the nation about sleep health which in turn often means people are less likely to find themselves suffering in silence when they notice an issue occurring.
