The winner of December's Poll is The Sussex Beacon and we will be donating £215.92 to this great Charity!

As we approach the end of 2020, it also means we’re unveiling our final charity line-up of the year. Let’s start by congratulating our November poll winners - Challengers! We will be revealing in March the total amount we’ve raised with your help last month, so stay tuned!

Moving onto December’s charity poll, we have a great line-up competing for your votes to finish off 2020 with a flourish. Say hello to your December charities! We’re starting off with Above & Beyond, which is a Bristol based charity raising money for hospitals within the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. This year, the charity have been working harder than ever to support Bristol City Centre hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic by providing vital PPE, supporting the wellbeing of NHS staff, and funding research into the disease, along with ensuring the very best in patient care. As a Bath based company ourselves, we’re so excited to be supporting a charity close to home!

Next up, we have North West Cancer Research. People living in the North West and North Wales are 25% more likely to be diagnosed with cancer than anywhere else in the UK, which is why North West Cancer Research are on a mission to tackle the most prevalent cancers in their region. They fund lifesaving research into causes, treatments, and ultimately, a cure for the diseases that devastates so many lives. Additionally, they raise awareness of symptoms and risk factors through their Cancer Education programmes, which aim to encourage earlier diagnosis, inspire future generations of researchers and change perceptions of cancer.

This December, we are also supporting The Sussex Beacon, a charity that supports people living with HIV. They provide hospital care and treatment for the conditions associated with HIV, such as secondary cancers and dementia, as well as occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and end of life care when needed. In addition, The Sussex Beacon provides services to support people in managing their health and reducing isolation. This includes services such as peer mentoring, mindfulness and wellbeing courses, support groups and one to one casework. As the 1st of December marks World AIDS Day, we are delighted to be supporting The Sussex Beacon this month.

Finally, completing our December charity poll line-up, we have Vision Aid Overseas. Vision Aid Overseas is a charity and development agency committed to providing affordable eye care and glasses to people living in the four main countries in Africa. Worldwide, there are 12 million children that struggle to learn purely because they need glasses, many of which have never had their eyes tested before. Through their school based projects and Vision Centres, Vision Aid Overseas provide eye care and glasses to those who need them, as well as working to develop local healthcare systems and training more optical professionals.
