How To Access Your Favourite Music On The Go
Ten years ago it would have been hard to believe that we’d soon have all of the biggest artists available at our fingertips. But enjoying our music in today’s age is a given. Most of us take to the multiple streaming platforms to gain access to an almost infinite selection. When an epidemic of illegal downloads began, many in the music industry sounded their disarray and repelled the poignant transition. But it appears the industry have managed to make a complete turn around since then. Artists and producers seem to have ensured the monetization of their music once again, and rightfully so. But this isn’t all bad for consumers, as we now have the opportunity to listen to everything and anything for free or a small monthly cost.
There’s a multitude of streaming websites and apps that make it easy for us to listen on the go. Why are there so many and which ones should we be using?
Apple Music
When Apple declare their interest in an industry, people sit up and take notice. They don’t do things by halves and since they announced that they would stream music last year it has got some of the other well-known companies ‘shaking in their boots.’ Apple Music is a platform that is extremely similar to Spotify, their plans and prices are very alike. Apple has agreed deals with some artists as many of them release via Apple Music before distributing their hard copies. They already have a powerful hold on the market and are currently offering three months free before paying £10.99 a month. The account can be used on multiple devices meaning that you can stream from you Macbook, iPad and iPhone.
Spotify
It’s no secret that Apple’s concept is pretty much the same as Spotify’s and their introduction into the music streaming industry will most likely affect Spotify. There has already been a war of words with Spotify accusing Apple of ‘bully boy’ tactics. The streaming leaders accused Apple of playing unfair with the commission on the Spotify app revenue and also expressed their concern of them playing unfairly. Apple allows their own streaming software to be controlled from the lockscreen and play in the background where it’s not as simple for Spotify. Despite their ongoing debate they still boast being the leading music streaming company. They have over 75 million users and numerous plans. You can enjoy listening for free or you can sign up to a monthly subscription and eradicate all advertisements.
Soundcloud
This website hosts a number of unsigned artists and DJ’s and makes it easy to discover your favourite genres. There’s a sense of exclusivity with this website. They have recently begun playing out advertisements in between your playlist but it is largely free. You can stream music from Soundcloud on your phone or smart device without any trouble. They now have newly conducted premium plans that can be subscribed to.
Amazon
Amazon joined the action some time ago with their version being known as Amazon Prime. They allow access to a lot of music, films and series while on the go. You can find some amazing deals and they specialise in a number of fields. So activate our Amazon voucher codes and find out how much you could potentially save. If you prefer to keep it old school then why not indulge in their CD collection too?
YouTube
Youtube haven’t set out to provide music on the go but they usually become the place for all our music and videos. It’s not advisable to stream on the go if you are using your 4G allowance as it can eat up data. But when connected to Wi-FI then YouTube is always a trusty site.
Conclusion
The advancements of streaming music are evident and there are numerous domains that offer a choice of your favourite genres. Apple Music and Spotify continue to fight it out at the top of the pack. Whilst Soundcloud offer a different angle to streaming, allowing DJ’s to upload their work and listeners to find rare music. Some of the subscriptions available are worth a try and they all make it easy to find new music that suits you. It’s all based on what you listen to, so discover the latest songs to meet your preference.
