Say Hello to Our New Fab Four with Our Brand New Charity Poll!
It seems like only yesterday we launched our charity poll for February, and here we are announcing the winner! A huge congratulations to Youth Action Wiltshire, who came in first place with 51% of the votes! We’ll announce in June how much we’ll be donating to this fantastic cause, so make sure to stay tuned!
February was also the month we announced the donation for LUPUS UK, who won our poll back in October. Thanks to you lovely lot, we raised £151.97! This will go towards supporting anyone affected by lupus, along with helping to raise awareness of the condition, so a huge thank you to everyone got involved. Remember to keep shopping with us and you’ll help us raise even more money for amazing causes!
Our March Charity Poll
You may remember last month we announced a change to our monthly poll. We're super excited to say that it starts this month! Since 2012, My Favourite Voucher Codes have been raising money for good causes with our poll, where each month three charities compete to win 20% of our profits. For a while now, we’ve been looking at ways to raise awareness for even more charities. That's why we’ve decided to now feature four charities each month instead of three! So, who do we have lined up to be our first ever fantastic four? Read on and meet our charities for March 2020!
Citizens Advice Bournemouth Christchurch & Poole
Citizens Advice Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole offers free one to one support to those who need it within the local community. Part of the national Citizens Advice Network, this charity provides clients with easy to access information and advice for any issues they may face. This includes a wide range of issues, such as family and relationships, consumer rights, employment, benefits and tax. Through providing this advice and support, clients can make their own choices and gain confidence to move forward in solving their problems and sustaining their wellbeing. Between April 2018 and March 2019, Citizens Advice BCP has helped over 13,000 members of the public with different issues. We’re delighted to be working with them this March to support them further! Check out their bio page where you’ll find further information on their work.
Marie Curie
Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with terminal illnesses and their loved ones. This is done in a number of ways, including nurses who care for patients at home and a telephone support service that provides practical advice and emotional support. The charity also funds research on palliative and end of life care to ensure that all patients and their families receive the very best care and support. Marie Curie are probably best known for their Great Daffodil Appeal, which launches every year and raises funds towards their vital services. That’s why we’re delighted to be teaming up with the South West branch of the charity to honour the launch of the appeal this March. If you’d like to find out more about Marie Curie and the amazing work they do, take a look at their bio page!
The National Kidney Federation
Next up, we have the National Kidney Federation (NKF). We’re thrilled to be working with them this month as the 12th March is World Kidney Day. The NKF is run by kidney patients themselves, fighting for improvements to treatments and support services, as well as raising awareness of renal disease. Believing that anyone with kidney disease is entitled to quality care, the charity aims to improve understanding of the condition within Parliament in order to promote improvements to the services available. In addition, the NKF provides patient support via their website, including an online community that allows patients to meet with others and to obtain information on their condition. Their patient support line and information leaflets are also there to provide advice on thousands of topics relating to kidney disease. This includes everything from medical information to lifestyle advice for those living with the condition. The NKF exists only thanks to the generosity of their supporters, so we’re delighted to be supporting them this March. Head over to their bio to find out more!
Wellbeing of Women
Finally, we have the fantastic Wellbeing of Women filling our fourth spot. As the 8th March is International Women’s Day, we are super excited to have them on board! The organisation is the only charity in the UK that funds pioneering research across the field of women’s health. Their ultimate aim is to find better treatments and improve diagnoses. Wellbeing of Women fund medical research in three core areas: general wellbeing, pregnancy and birth, and gynaecological cancers. Investing funds into research projects that investigate issues such as PCOS, miscarriages and cervical cancer, the charity wants to bring about medical breakthroughs that will transform the lives of women and their babies in the UK. In addition, they also award research grants to medical professionals, helping to train future generations of gynaecologists, midwives and obstetricians. Wellbeing of Women also run a number of campaigns aimed at raising awareness and reducing the stigma around women’s health issues. Take a look at their bio page to find out more about their research and work!
