Add a Little Fun Back Into Your Day With Our Self Isolation Challenge!
There’s some scary stuff happening in the world right now, and while we don’t want to dwell on it too much, it’s pretty hard to ignore what’s happening in the news. However, here at My Favourite Voucher Codes we’re business as usual - albeit working from home instead of our usual HQ - and we want to hopefully bring a smile to your face during these rubbish times. So, we’ve created our version of ‘Self Isolation Bingo’ with our new infographic to help you make the most of this extra free time.
Self Isolation Challenge: The Rules
It’s super simple - simply check off each challenge as you go! We’ve included a few tasks you can get up to all in the comfort of your own home, as well as a few little bonus things for you to tick off too. Why not share it with your friends and family and get a little challenge going? Perhaps the last person to fill their card buys the first round at the pub or hosts the first post quarantine party when all this is over? The more competitive you can make it, the better!
Facetime a Loved One
We live in a world where we have some fantastic technology at our disposal, and now is the time to reap the benefits. Never underestimate the power of a face to face conversation, and not only will it make your day, it’ll probably make theirs too.
Buy a Restaurant Gift Card
We may not be in a position right now to enjoy a meal at our favourite restaurant, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t plan for it in the future. Many restaurants will still allow you to purchase a gift card online for you to redeem at a later time, and you may even find that some of your local restaurants offer it too, which is a great way to support your local businesses right now.
Learn a New Language
What better way to make use of your free time than by learning another language? Apps like Duolingo are free to use and have a whole variety of languages to choose from, all with bitesize lessons that make it super easy for beginners.
Get Dressed as if it’s a Normal Day
We’re all guilty of working from home in our pyjamas I’m sure, but it’s important not to fall into bad habits! While it’s tempting to spend all day everyday in loungewear for the next few weeks, making the effort to get up and dressed properly will keep you feeling motivated and will help keep some normality to your routine.
Binge Watch a New Series
If you’re anything like us, our Netflix watch-list will be packed with stuff you haven’t quite got round to watching. Now is the time! Take your pick of any new shows you’ve been meaning to start and dive straight in. Or, if you fancy, why not rewatch an old favourite?
Read a Book You’ve Wanted to Read
If you’re one of those people that only picks up a book for a quick 5 minutes before bed, now’s the time to change that! Really take some time for yourself to enjoy a hefty chunk of whatever book you’re reading, or perhaps even make a start on that huge stack that’s mounting up on your bedside table. If you really want to unleash your inner bookworm, why not kick back and see if you can finish a whole book in one day?
Do a Home Workout
It’s important that we stay active right now, and for those of us who love a session at the gym we might be struggling a bit. Thankfully, YouTube is there to come to our rescue and has thousands of fitness channels and videos available to suit all levels and tastes. Whether you try relaxing Yoga with Adriene or a super charged HIIT workout with The Body Coach, there’s something for everyone, and it’s all for free!
Spring Clean Your Finances
At a time where we all may be worrying a little bit more about the pennies, it’s always worth doing a bit of a spring clean if you’re able to. Take a look at your finances to see if there’s any areas you can cut back on over the coming weeks to save you some extra cash. Not only will it help you know where you are money wise, but getting on top of things might make your head feel a bit clearer.
Do at Least One Odd Job
We’ve all got them. A long old list of all those we want to get done “when we’ve got the time.” Well, here you go. We’re not saying you have to do ALL of them (unless of course you want to!) but getting one done at least will get you feeling more productive and you’ll likely feel so much better once it’s done and dusted.
Try a New Recipe
Make use of any ingredients you’ve got lying around in your cupboards and see if you can throw together a brand new dish. Whether you opt to make a hearty family meal, or you decide to bake some delicious sweet treats, take a look at Pinterest for plenty of recipes and inspiration and get cooking. You never know, you may discover a new love for cooking!
Organise Your Wardrobe (or Anything Else for That Matter!)
By the time this is all over we will (hopefully) be able to enjoy some warmer weather, so why not use this as an excuse to spring clean your wardrobe? Get rid of anything you no longer wear, and maybe even take the time to experiment with new clothing combinations.
Make a “When This is All Over” List
It can be difficult to see past what’s going on right now, but making a list of things to look forward to might be just the thing to help you stay positive. Make a list of all those relatives and friends you’ll catch up with properly when this ends, trips you want to take, activities you want to do. Yes, right now we can’t actually do them, but we can certainly focus on them to get us through this tricky time.
Bonus Tasks
Of course we also want to add a little fun to the mix too, which is why we’ve thrown in a few extras of things that are more than likely to happen over the next few weeks.
-
Someone in the house says they’re bored - Inevitable really. Tick this off as soon as you hear those two little words.
-
Your partner/housemate/family member starts to annoy you - Self explanatory!
-
You argue with someone in your house over something trivial - We’re talking those really silly arguments caused by cabin fever. Whether it’s how the dishwasher gets stacked, who’s turn it is to pick what you watch on TV, those trivial arguments may set in.
-
Someone says the phrase “When all this is over” or similar - Whether it’s on the telly, someone in your house or someone on the phone, if you haven’t heard this phrase yet, you probably will very soon!
-
You spot fake news/click bait on social media - We all have them on our feed. Those people who share every single article on the current situation that’s either completely untrue or blows one tiny detail out of proportion. Click the ‘hide’ button, and then tick this one off - sorted.
-
Wondering if it’s too early to start drinking - This may be one you’ve considered, particularly if you’re homeschooling right now!
So that’s it! Share this post with your friends and set yourselves a little challenge - not only will it hopefully keep you busy over the next few weeks, it might help bring you a little closer to your mates.
Finally, if you want to cheer yourself up by engaging in a little retail therapy, we’re still here for you here at My Favourite Voucher Codes. Our team of bargain hunters are still working away to bring you the very best deals and offers, whether that’s to help you save on those all important groceries, or a little something for yourself as a pick-me-up!
