New Live Action Peter Rabbit Film in the Works
This week it was announced that a live action Peter Rabbit film is in production and set to star James Corden, Daisy Ridley and Rose Byrne, continuing the current trend for live action feature versions of classic animated characters. But Peter Rabbit is a very British sort of character and his enduring popularity, along with fellow Beatrix Potter creations, was evident in the scale of recent celebrations for what would have been the author’s 150th birthday. This makes the movie announcement a proud moment for many Brits who grew up with a Beatrix Potter book collection on their shelf.
But it’s not the first time Peter Rabbit has been brought to life on the screen, and there are a number of different animated series available on DVD and Blu Ray. So if you want to catch up with Peter and his friends before this new film comes out, either by introducing your own children to the books or watching the current adaptations, here are a few suggestions for some classic Peter Rabbit appreciation…
Popular Peter Rabbit Books
Many a childhood home had a collection of the small Beatrix Potter books and there aren’t too many children who can forget the tale of Peter and his escapades with lettuce thievery. But if you find your current home lacking in Peter titles, then there’s plenty available with The Book People voucher codes. You can or order the entire original collection – that’s 23 books in total – with The World of Peter Rabbit Collection. This retails at a whopping £137.77 when purchased individually, but is just £29.99 with bought using The Book People voucher codes. You could also purchase The Beatrix Potter Colouring Book (was £9.99, now £7.99) and the rather charming Dear Peter Miniature Letters, a collection of letters written by various Beatrix Potter characters via the author herself (£7.89).
On Screen Versions of Peter Rabbit
As mentioned before, this new adaptation won’t be the first time we’ve seen Peter and his friends on screen, and you can get previous version of TV adaptations using HMV promo codes. They’ve got The Beatrix Potter Collection (£6.99), the original animated TV series based on the illustrations in the books, or for those kids who’d prefer something a bit more up to date, you can buy DVDs of the most recent Peter Rabbit adaptation too, including titles such as Peter Rabbit: Tales of the Start of Spring and Peter Rabbit: The Tale of True Friends (both £12.99), with more titles coming soon.
Popular Peter Rabbit Gifts and Baby wear
Of course, the power of Peter Rabbit knows no bounds, and there are many more themed items you can find if you’re looking for a gift or children’s clothes. There are many exclusive products from The Peter Rabbit Collection available with Mothercare discount vouchers including a Peter Rabbit Moses Basket (£110.00), a Peter Rabbit Blankie (£14.99) and a Peter Rabbit All in One Baby Gro (£12.00), as well as wide range of toys and stationary items.
